Janet is an artist, not by rote or aspiration, but by inborn personal nature. She trolls the simple pleasures of creation that transcend material and style, those that cannot be derived from personal ambition or expectations from without. Her unbounded love for the creative process is reflected in her exploration of many media and various outlets of expression, small and large.

New methods and materials satisfy Janet's curiosity. She has enjoyed sketching, painting, poetry, collage, sculpture, gourds, assemblage, fusing glass, paper making, welding, jewelry making, and other media. The artist's work has been included in shows at various galleries and events in Sacramento and has been featured in the Sacramento Bee. Janet was commissioned by a jazz band to make matching earrings for the wives of all the musicians. She participated in Banners on the Boulevard, sponsored by the North Sacramento Chamber of Commerce and Uptown Arts, in which 65 artists painted seven-foot tall banners which hung along Del Paso Boulevard during the summer of 2006. One of her creations she has enjoyed most over the years is her "Cowch", an 11-piece sectional sofa upholstered in hair-on cowhide.

Her strongest commitment and greatest satisfaction can be found in her 30+ year tradition of creating hand-made Christmas and Hanukkah cards. The living rooms of those Janet holds most dear, where her work from over the years is often hung, is the gallery that most flatters the artist in her.

Janet grew up in Philadelphia, and was influenced by her mother's pursuits as an artist. She lived for some time in Israel before coming to Sacramento, where she has made a family and become a professional property manager. The artist is a member of the Creative Arts League of Sacramento and Crocker Art Museum.
